I love building products. I currently work on AI at Tether/QVAC.
Where to find me
Who I am
I’m a builder, not an optimizer. It means that, although I appreciate intellectual challenges, I don’t enjoy solving puzzles for the sake of it.
I will pour my heart and soul into solving them if it gets me closer to my goal: building a kickass product.
I keep up with the latest tech trends but that’s not what I’m passionate about, shipping cool shit is.
A few things I believe:
- 🤖 AI and robotics will vastly improve our quality of life and those who oppose it or want to “slow it down” (decels) haven’t really brought valid arguments to the table yet.
- 👨🏻💻 Software is the highest form of leverage human kind has ever seen and being able to code is like having super powers.
- 📐 Math is fun! But it’s taught like shit in school and you can greatly improve your understanding of complex mathematical concepts by converting dense notation into slightly more verbose code. Here’s an example.
- 📖 I apply the Rails doctrine whenever I can. DX (DevX) is everything. I don’t override defaults unless I really have to. I use frameworks and templates to help remove decision fatigue for stupid shit that won’t make a difference to the product. And remember: if the UX is poor people might not use your product but if the DX is poor your product might never get built (at least not as you expect it). I currently enjoy using the t3 stack for all my projects and Expo if I need to go native.
I find myself very aligned with a movement called effective accelerationism (e/acc for short) if you really want to put a label on some of the above.
